Tamron’s Tamron Lens Ultity (TLU) and Tamron Lens Utility Mobile (TLU-M) have been well received in the market, and have now been upgraded to version 2.0, launched at the same as the new A058Z lens on 21st September 2023.
What is Tamron Lens Utility?
Tamron Lens Utility is dedicated software that can customize functions and update the firmware of Tamron lenses equipped with a Connector Port (USB Type-C) using a Windows or Mac personal computer. Personalizing lens settings to match your shooting style allows you to be more creative and makes photography more fun. Tamron Lens Utility Mobile is the version for Android OS smartphones.
What can you do with Tamron lens Utility?
Functions of TLU/TLU-M include the following:
* A-B Focus: smoothly and easily shift focus from one subject to another
* Focus Preset: move focus to a prerecorded focal point with one press
* Focus Limiter: choose the focus search range to best suit your photography situation
* Focus Ring Function Setting: makes manual focus easier to use
* Select AF/MF: to switch between Autofocus and Manual Focus
* Ring Function: switch function from focus adjustment to aperture adjustment)
* Assign Function from the Camera: functions of the camera body can be assigned to the Focus Set Button
* Firmware Updates: update lens to the latest firmware version

What are the upgrades to TLU/ TLU-M?
* A058Z Support (TLU/TLU-M):with the development of A058Z, TLU/TLU-M updated to support Z mount compatibility (note: soome functions differ from E-mount)
* Improved TLU-M operability (TLU-M): change to intuitive touch operation; Remote Set Button setting will have vibration notification when setting is completed by pressing and holding the button; and Remote Set Button screen will indicate current focus position and recorded focus position.
* Change of focus shifting speed (TLU): speed selection on TLU will change to actual travel time selection as TLU-M.
