Tamron recently announced an update to Tamron Lens Utility Mobile, their proprietary software that supports practical video production with simple operations. This dedicated app is available for Android OS compatible smartphones and tablets. The new functions FC Marker (Focus Marker) and FC Ease (Focus Ease) have been added to DFF (Digital Follow Focus), a function exclusive to Tamron Lens Utility Mobile that provides practical and simple support for focus work techniques essential for video production. The software version has changed from Ver.3.0 to Ver.4.0 and is currently available to download here.

On the Ver.3.0 software Tamron added the DFF function so that users can easily enjoy follow focus on a smartphone and tablet screen, a key function in video production. In Tamron Lens Utility Mobile Ver.4.0, the new FC Marker and FC Ease functions are added to the DFF function so that users can enjoy even more precise focus work. It is now easier to direct the focus with these DFF functions and users can experience the joy of creating videos by infusing their own intended movement into the focusing process.

 FC Marker (Focus Marker)
In addition to the Focus Stopper feature available in Ver.3.0, with Ver.4.0, you can place 3 markings using the focus ring appearing on the DFF screen. Between these markings, you can pull focus manually or even have the focus to move automatically from one focus point to another. When making the focus to shift automatically, the focus travel time can be set, putting the videographer’s intention into the focus work.

FC Ease (Focus Ease)
When using the marker function, you can create a gradual transition on focusing. The Ease setting allows you to set a slow or fast focus transition in the beginning and at the end of the focus shifts. The ease effect will vary depending on the set figure.
