As of late 2024 Peak Design decided to stop using PFAS (per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances) in their goods as scientific studies over recent years have revealed that these ‘forever chemicals’ do not break down and can accumulate over time. As Peak Design are committed to making beautiful high-quality gear while upholding the highest standards of product safety and environmental stewardship, they are only manufacturing eco-friendly PFAS-free products going forward.

The Versa Shell external fabric of this new version of the Travel Backpack 45L features an eco-friendly PFAS-free water-repellent treatment (replacing the previous DWR treatment).
