BaseCamp Core is the backbone of the BaseCamp Matte Box System. It natively fits 114mm outer-diameter lenses and easily adapts to a wide range of lens sizes via clamp rings or thread plates. Features include unibody ultralight design, snap-on hood attachment, tool-free rail mount, filter lock and integrated CP slot with easily accessible control.

The aerodynamic hood reduces drag by 30%, ideal for high-speed gimbal use. The adjustable carbon fibre flag enables full control over stray light and flare. The clamp rings are constructed out of precision injection polymers to attach cinema lenses to BaseCamp. The 100% aluminium thread plates smoothly attach to your favourite lenses, connecting BaseCamp Matte Box to lenses with filter threads.

The circular polarizer filter reduces glare and increases colour saturation. It can also be used in tandem with rectangular VND to create a variable ND effect. The  filter's aluminium frame prevents fingerprints and protects from impact. The ND filter has a built-in frame to protect form impact and ensure confident filter swops, and an easily legible filter type indicator. Hyper neutral through 1100nm eliminates IR contamination. The 2-5 VND rectangle gives 2 to 5 stop reduction, with 0.6 to 1.5 optical density and 25% to 3.125 light transmission.
