Compatible with Tamron Lens Utility software
The 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 VC is compatible with the dedicated Tamron Lens Utility software (for computers and Android OS) that was developed in-house by Tamron. This software allows various lens and camera settings to be assigned to the Focus Set Button located on the lens. Also, the lenses' firmware can be updated to the latest version. In addition, when using the mobile version, functions unique to the mobile version can be operated remotely without touching the lens. Users may customize functions for various still photography and videography shooting styles, thereby providing a more personalized and fulfilling shooting experience. Additionally, with the 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 VC you can select the “Focus Limiter” function that allows you to limit the focus search range of the AF. This function shortens the time taken to refocus when a subject slips out of focus and prevents focusing on obstacles in front of a subject.

Enhanced operational and structural features
You can fully enjoy shooting without any stress with the enhanced usability of this lens. The arc of rotation of the zoom ring is only 75° which enables swift adjustment to the desired focal length with minimal movement. The Arca Swiss compatible tripod mount with quick shoe (Model A035TM, sold separately) allows you to shift quickly from handheld shooting to a tripod. The tripod mount can be easily attached and detached, allowing you to choose the best shooting method for each scene. Tamron’s engineers examined the structure and key parts of the lens, right down to the fine details, resulting in an enhanced design that updates both operability and the ergonomic considerations. The surface of the lens exterior is shiny and glossy black. Improved abrasion resistance makes the lens harder to scratch and resists fingerprints. The rubber on the ring is also updated to have better grip performance with deeper grooves. Unified 67mm filter diameter
All lenses in this series are designed to be compact and lightweight, suitable for use with mirrorless cameras and have the same 67mm filter diameter.
